Dear Family Members,
I am writing this memorandum in an effort to make sure that all of our family members know the necessary steps we are taking to ensure the health, safety and well-being of your loved ones. As you know, over the past several weeks, we have taken steps in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, such as no visitors and allowing only essential personnel to enter our building. We have stepped up the overall purchasing of personal protective equipment (PPE) and continue to do so. We have brought to everyone's attention the need for social distancing, especially during activities and dining. Going forward, we will be implementing the following changes, once again, as outlined by the CDC and the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH).
1. Telehealth: In order to protect our Physicians, as well as our residents, unless it is an emergency situation, Physicians will be available to our Nurses & Residents through our Telemedicine. Once again, under the guidelines of the CDC and waivers by the State of New Jersey, our doctor will be able to assess via Telemedicine, the same way you would do FaceTime or Skyping.
2. With regards to PPE, we are asking all staff members to begin wearing masks on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at all times, except while on break. This is a precautionary measure for the protection of your loved ones.
3. As you know, Mrs. Holloway & I have been in the Healthcare Business for 35 years. We have been faced with major storms and evacuations but nothing of this magnitude. I want you to know that Mrs. Holloway & I along with Kelly Reilly, our Executive Director, Wendy Becker, our Community Relations Director and Kimberly Hoffman, our Administrative Assistant are working very hard with our Medical Director, Dr. Rao, Hope Richmond our Wellness Director and all of our Nursing staff as well as ancillary staff to ensure the overall safety, health, and well-being of your loved ones. I believe we have the most dedicated staff anywhere and they have, and will continue to have, the Residents’ care as their utmost objective.
In order for us to be effective and available to meet these needs, it will be necessary that we refrain from being in our Communities on a regular basis. I have asked Mrs. Holloway to remain in the Business Office as my overall backup. I will continue to visit from time to time to ensure all operations are running as smoothly as can be under these circumstances.
In the event that our front line staff is affected by COVID-19, we are asking family and friends, those who may be out of work or who know individuals out of work due to non-essential business shut down and may have an interest in picking up temporary work, to contact our Business Office. We will obtain your contact information and forward you an application to complete. Not only will this help you, but you will be providing a great contribution and service to our most frail and vulnerable population. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
In closing, I want you to know that we have your loved ones’ interests at heart. Please know that we are available each and every day, should you have any questions or concerns regarding COVID-19 or your loved ones’ care.
